In a landmark move blending faith, education, and influence, Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, has appointed Pastor (Mrs) Foluke Adenike Adeboye popularly known as Mummy G.O. and wife of RCCG General Overseer Pastor Enoch Adeboye as its new Chancellor.
The announcement, made on February 21, 2026, came just days after the university’s 15th convocation ceremony, where she received an honorary Doctor of Humanity (Honoris Causa) degree. The Governing Council swiftly confirmed her acceptance, positioning her as the ceremonial head and moral compass of this faith-based private institution.
Pastor Folu Adeboye brings decades of experience as a pastor, educationist, administrator, global speaker, and pillar of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
Her appointment is viewed as a strategic elevation, infusing deeper spiritual integrity and prestige into Caleb University’s governance amid its rise in Nigeria’s higher education scene. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olalekan Asikhia hailed the development as a defining milestone, aligning with the university’s core Christian values and commitment to excellence.
The timing coincides with Caleb University’s impressive 15th convocation results: 1,924 graduates received degrees, including 96 First Class honours, 1,625 undergraduates, and strong postgraduate performances underscoring academic rigor alongside moral formation.
This high-profile appointment highlights the growing synergy between spiritual leadership and tertiary education in Nigeria, with Mummy G.O. now guiding one of the country’s respected private universities.
