Fresh Crisis as Citizen Owowa Faces Suspension from Odimayo Media Team Amid Tunji-Ojo Criticism.

‎Popular Facebook influencer, propaganda analyst, and political commentator, Christopher Owowa, widely known as Citizen Owowa, has reportedly been suspended from the media team of the Member representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jimi Odimayo.

‎Owowa, alongside several others, was appointed as a Special Assistant on New Media in 2023 following Odimayo’s resumption at the National Assembly. Since then, he has remained one of the active voices within the media structure of the lawmaker.

‎However, in what is already generating conversations within Ondo political circles, the outspoken commentator was reportedly suspended in the early hours of today over his persistent criticism of the Honourable Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

‎According to information gathered from a source who pleaded anonymity, members of the media team — including the federal lawmaker himself — had previously reached out to Owowa, urging him to tone down or withdraw his public criticisms against the Minister.

‎The source further disclosed that the disciplinary committee of the media team cited his continued criticism of Tunji-Ojo as the reason behind the suspension.

‎The development is coming amid growing speculations that Hon. Odimayo may have aligned his political structure with the Minister of Interior following his loss to Daramola Olumuyiwa in the recently concluded APC primary election.

‎Political observers believe the alliance may be connected to ongoing efforts to challenge or overturn the outcome of the primary election through Hon. Tunji-Ojoʼs political influence and strategic alignments within the party.

‎Citizen Owowa, who is known as a strong supporter of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has consistently remained one of the vocal critics of Tunji-Ojo, especially amid the reported political tensions between the Minister and the Governor.

‎There have been longstanding reports of a political rift between Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, with both camps allegedly engaged in a power struggle over the control and direction of the APC structure in Ondo State.

‎Political observers have repeatedly accused the Minister of making aggressive moves to dominate the party structure across the state, a development many loyalists of Governor Aiyedatiwa consider a direct attempt to usurp the Governor’s authority and influence within the APC ahead of future political calculations.

‎Owowa’s suspension is now being viewed by many as another reflection of the deepening political divisions within the ruling party in Ondo State.
