HAM VOLUNTEERS REJECT PURPORTED APC CANDIDATES LIST, INSISTS MAKINDE WON FAIRLY.

‎The HAM Volunteers have rejected a purported list of APC successful candidates currently circulating, describing it as fraudulent and lacking any legitimacy.

‎In a statement signed by the group, the volunteers maintained that no individual or group could overturn the will of party members through what they described as “backdoor arrangements.”

‎According to the statement, the mandate of any candidate must be earned through the ballot and not through external influence or unofficial processes.

‎The group outlined the following points in support of its position:

‎No Appeal Committee: It stated that no duly constituted appeal committee was set up to review or overturn the outcome of the APC primary election.

‎No Appeal Against Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde: According to the group, no aspirant filed or pursued any appeal challenging the victory of Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde after the primary election.

‎Primary Election Was Conclusive: The volunteers said the election was conducted across all 22 wards in line with APC and INEC guidelines, with Hon. Dr. Abiola Makinde emerging victorious. They added that the outcome was certified by the relevant stakeholders.

‎Presence of Election Officials: The statement also noted that representatives of the APC National Headquarters, INEC, the Nigeria Police Force, and other accredited officials monitored and supervised the exercise.

‎The group further alleged that the individual being presented as the winner abandoned the official collation centre and instead conducted what it described as an unauthorized collation exercise at a private hotel in Ondo Town without the presence of the officials responsible for supervising the process. It argued that such an exercise carries no legal or party legitimacy.

‎The HAM Volunteers also claimed they were aware of those responsible for the alleged manipulation and vowed that the individuals involved would be exposed at the appropriate time.

‎Addressing those it described as “Abuja-based manipulators,” the group argued that figures could not be altered outside the state to override the votes cast by APC members in the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency or undermine the authority of the state leadership.

‎The group appealed to its supporters in Nigeria and abroad to remain calm, peaceful, and law-abiding, assuring them that legal, political, and constitutional steps were already being taken to challenge the development.

‎It also noted that, under the party’s constitutional provisions, there remains a window until September for candidate substitutions. The statement concluded with the assertion that the truth would ultimately prevail.
